Meet Cathy: A Valley Native with a Passion for Service
I’m a lifelong Alaskan, raised in Anchorage and deeply rooted in the Mat-Su Valley since 1980. Growing up, I spent my summers and weekends in Chugiak, learning the Alaskan way of life—hard work, self-reliance, and respect for our land and traditions—from my grandparents. After graduating from Service High School, I earned a certificate in Accounting and Travel from Alaska Business College, setting the stage for a career dedicated to community and leadership.
My journey in the Valley began in Big Lake, where I worked for a local law firm, and later served under the Mayor of Wasilla as the city established itself as a first-class city. Since my first election in 2014, I’ve served District 26 with integrity, and also served as Speaker of the House in the 33rd Legislature.
A Commonsense Conservative Champion Rooted in the Mat-Su Valley
For more than a decade, I’ve proudly served as your State Representative for District 26, carrying the heart and soul of the Mat-Su Valley to Juneau with unwavering resolve. As Speaker of the House, Minority Leader, and a dedicated member of numerous legislative committees, I’ve fought relentlessly for fiscal discipline, the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), and the Alaskan values that define us. My deep roots in the Valley and my proven conservative principles have guided every vote, every bill, and every decision. Now, I’m running for State Senate in District M to bring my battle-tested leadership to a larger stage, ensuring our community thrives in a prosperous, free, and opportunity-rich Alaska.
Join me in building a future where the Mat-Su Valley shines as a beacon of opportunity, freedom, and strength. Together, we’ll ensure District M has a proven, principled voice in the Alaska State Senate.
